Hey! As a private English tutor (working 1-1 and with small groups), I don’t seem to qualify for either the new Educator plan or the Bootcamp. I’ve got two main questions now:

1. Do you offer any alternatives? Is there any plan for a reasonable price that can allow me to have multiple FigJam boards to use with my 1-1 and group students where I don’t have to pay some $5 monthly for each participant so that they can also edit the boards and not just view them? 

 

2. If there are indeed no sensible alternatives you can offer, would you at least allow a smooth transition to, say, Canva Whiteboard? I transitioned all of my Google Jamboards to Figma once when a year ago Jamboard announced it was closing. I put all of my eggs in my basket and now I don't want to get stuck with unusable FigJam boards. The only export options available aren’t currently allowing for interactivity and all of the elements are stuck (e.g. in PDF). Jamboard at least partnered with Figma last year and the transition was indeed smooth.

I forwarded the questions you had over to our education team, and they’d like to have a more direct conversation to pick your brain a bit (also discuss what Figjam features may fit what you need in a different way).

I have verified my educational plan again, everything got approved and ready to go. I see the Make tab within the new project button but it is greyed out. I am using the desktop app version. Does it matter which version I use be it the desktop or web? I’m just waiting for it to show up in the white active state so I can start building lessons around it. 

 

NVM I had to toggle the button to make the AI active. We are good to go!

Hey, I still haven’t got a reply from the eduction team after I emailed them the same day I got this suggestion from you. I’d love to hear from anyone who can help me (and many other teachers out there) sort out the educator plan OR the migration to Canva.

Hey ​@Victoria Besarab - I’m really sorry for the delay in this. I checked with our education team, and they confirmed that they reached out last Wednesday (September 17). They’ve been working really hard to get to everyone’s questions and inquiries, and I appreciate your patience while they’ve done so 🙏🏻

There was some unfortunate timing on my end as well - I had been offline during the time they confirmed this info for me, so I wasn’t able to pass that information along to you earlier. 

I believe you’ve been in conversation since then, but please do let me know if that’s not the case.

I submitted my request to be verified as a Bootcamp in mid-September, but I keep receiving messages that my free plan for Edu has expired and that I need to be verified again. Could you please clarify the timeframe for the verification process and let me know when I can expect to receive the result?

I am eager to continue with my work, and the current situation is becoming a bit challenging, so any update would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Education Plan Verification Limit Issue

Hello,  
I tried verifying my student status with my school email ([redacted by forum admin to remove PII]),  
but I keep receiving a message saying "Verification limit exceeded."  

I already tried deleting and rejoining my account and waited over two weeks,  
but the same error still appears.  

I can provide official documents (certificate of enrollment or student ID)  
to verify my student status if needed.  
Please help me complete the education verification process.

If you've hit your verification limit, you'll need to reach out to the SheerID support team directly from here. They can reset your limit so you can try verifying again.
