I would love to see the “Swap content” option the Edit content section. Right now I did not figure out how to create a powerful template that would be simply copied by our marketing team and all the changes would be done in the Edit content section.
We have a lot of interchangeable components containing vector designs and it is impossible to create templates with all the combinations.
Maybe I am just missing something and I need to wait for better tutorials, etc...
Loving Buzz so far! Will be extremely useful in some of my workflows and may be able to move other team members off of indesign for digital asset creation. Feedback and questions so far:
Is there a way to pass in a value from the xlsx/csv for an asset name?
Otherwise its very hard to manage files once exported
I’d love to pivot the table or export grouped by rows somehow. Use case, im generating all campaign assets for an event. In my import, each row is a speaker, Then in the buzz file im using templates for different channels, linkedin, edms etc
But assets for each speaker are needed at different times
I can’t find a way to do group or sort them in that way, other than manually re-organising after generated or selecting down all assets in each column (which dont line up due to different asset sizes), and exporting in a group
Only other small ux issue (could just be me!) was I thought publishing was broken. I kept clicking it with no response, restarting figma etc.. eventually realised I had to select team to publish to. I only have one team. Must just not have seen that needed to be selected or maybe I didn’t scroll. Can’t quite remember.
Quite a simple question really.
Why can’t I add a library to my Figma Buzz. Is this on purpose? Otherwise I would like to have it as a feature.
You can import your library fro the inserts panel. We are aware that this is rather hidden and will work on improving this workflow. Thank you for your feedback.

connect a value for asset name: it’s on our roadmap
pivot the table or export grouped by rows: so instead of arranging the assets by the template, you wish to arrange them by the row in the file? will share this feedback with the team
select the team by default on publishing: yes, we are aware of this annoying and will have this fixed soon.

Thanks for the feedback! Would you be able to provide some examples of results you want to achieve? Feel free to reach out to me at azhong@figma.com.
Really great tool for creating loads of ads / newsletters multiple languages. However, it doesn't support diacritics in other languages. They show up as ? or icon with ? instead :( Pleeeeease, solve this problem..
Yikes! Can you let me know which font is this?
Hello, I encountered a very troublesome issue when using Figma's Buzz. Currently, batch importing images only supports inserting images by inserting them into Excel, but this method is very cumbersome for actual workflow use. The batch plugin I used before could read image links from Excel and insert images. I wonder if the future Buzz will be compatible with image link forms.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes this is something we’ll be exploring to improve the feature.
I was very excited to see how we could simplify and speed up our bannerdesign process with Buzz.
I would REALLY like to see a setting for auto-resize fontsize within a textframe. This would make creating templates that could be used for various campaigns and asset sizes much more meaningful and powerful. At the moment this is actually a dealbreaker for us. If only plugins were available within Buzz this could help us out here, but a checkbox for auto-resize fontsize in a textframe within the frame would be amazing.
The possibility to access Plugins is also on my wishlist. :)

Oakes Grotesk. It works with diacritics for us. In this case we have this view. Maybe it’s a font problem because I checked the system font, Arial, and it worked fine. In this case, however, there is a branding problem: using the system font when importing an Excel file and then changing it to our branding font everywhere. :/
Will we get video preview and video export for buzz. Another question will we get CMYK and print export for Buzz as Canva already had both these features.

Does this font work properly in Figma Design or Figma Slides? Since it’s a paid font, I can’t try it out myself.

Both are in the work. Can you walk us through more of your thoughts on video preview and export? What are you expectations?
I am really excited about Figma Buzz but I find it doesn’t really work for my teams workflow. We have several assets in different sizes for different use cases that have the SAME content. What we’d want to do is bulk edit text that is the same (like titles and a date) across all assets, but creating a spreadsheet for this seems like an added step and actually more work than just quickly making the change across assets. For example, the event title needs to be updated across all assets and sizes. I don't want have to upload a .csv to do it (although i could see this being useful if we had variable content for one asset size!).
I just played around with it this morning -- some notes:
Two images in the Edit Content panel where one image is being used in multiple spots. I created a template where a single image is being used in two places: as the cover art and as the background (with Layer Blur effect & lower opacity). I suspected that I’d be able to leverage components here, so that the template would just require one asset for the marketer to update, rather than two. So I created the master component and added the component instances to the frame in Figma Design → copied it over to Figma Buzz & published the template. After publishing, the two instances showed up as two separate image uploads on the Edit Content panel. Not sure what’s the best way to go about this, but it would be great if we just had one image to replace for efficiency.
The ‘Swap content’ feature is not immediately clear for marketing users. As a designer, since I made the component set in Figma Design, I know that the component has different variants… but I wouldn’t count on my marketing teammate to click the small ‘Swap content’ button to then view the replacement options if they didn’t know those variants existed in the first place. I’d suggest showing the replacement panel near the template once they click on the image and/or showing smaller previews of the alternate variants on the edit content panel for discoverability. It shouldn’t be hidden behind a ‘swap content’ button.
Honestly, I’m very disappointed. Maybe instead of developing a product suite that seems unlikely to be all that useful to many people (I’d be very curious as to how many engineering teams would accept website code written by Figma from the Sites app. I suspect very, very few.)
Instead of spending what is obviously thousands of PM, UX/UI, and engineering hours on those new products, why not spend even a quarter of that time improving the core Figma product-especially prototyping/interactions. Figma is more than a decade behind other prototyping tools in basic functionality. Using variables can be unpredictable and buggy, and lacks a lot of functionality that would make the lives of designers easier. Not only for the interaction tools, but providing configurable and functional UI components that are used in nearly every website, mobile app, and web app including complex enterprise apps like the one I work on. Having a functional radio button, checkbox, input field, select/dropdown and especially a working table component would be HUGE.

Yes, it works perfectly. That's is why I raised a question about some bug on the Figma.

Yes! This is what I need, as I want to use icons in Buzz, but there are too many icons to be in one variant. But, I can’t swap the component out for another one.

I had a similar problem with automation in another program once. I don't remember if it was Adobe Illustrator,/Photoshop, or Photopea.
The solution was to create files in Google Sheets. Data imported from Excel had character encoding issues.
Maybe this will help in this case, too.

Hi! Another question came to mind. I have not tested this myself yet. In Buzz you can publish a template for teammates to use that has the contents locked/restricted - but from what I read they will always have the option to remove those restictions from the template and change whatever they want?
This defeats the purpose for many who unfortunately can’t trust non-designer template users to stay on brand. Those restrictions will by those be turned off so fast by some... It should be possible to remove the possibility to remove the restrictions, and only be able to change the text or image within the fields that have been designed.
Did I miss something or is this really what is intended?
1. If the file cannot be saved as a prototype in Figma buzz, wouldn't it be inefficient to save the file in Figma design file as templates?
2. I think it is a pity that the templates of Figma buzz cannot be linked to the Figma design file.

That would be awesome, if they could be linked like components and instances are now!
I've enjoyed Figma Buzz and the one thing that sparked my interest in this product was the ability to automate the design process. As a designer at an advertising agency, often as a part of the process is creating multiple advertisements that are different sizes from one creative template.
I would love to have the ability to have 1 design be converted into multiple different sizes at once. From experimenting with the program, I'm not seeing that capability. I have been able to create multiple ads that are the same size as my template. These capabilities would be huge to graphic designers in the ad industry. We have lots of products that need to be designed for numerous clients with a quick turnaround. Hope this feedback helps and comes to fruition in the near future.
Very simple to set up a template once you get the hang of it. Styles are limited but suffice for a first version. The bulk add feature works pretty slick but you have to use Google Sheets if you want to add images. Google Sheets is blocked at my work, so for the time being, our design team won’t be able to use this feature. Hope this gets fixed, otherwise it really loses its appeal.
