Community Button Gone?

The button for this was so easy to find always in the bottom left of the screen. First the icon recently changed to what looked like a notebook, then it kept moving around and now disappearing all together. It’s now completely gone, and after minutes of searching the closest thing I found was the Templates and tools section, but it is broken as the search function always returns the same set of results shown in the screenshot.

Why does a perfectly functioning thing constantly have to get changed, confusing the users?

I hate this, too. I miss the tab at the top. It kept my “Working” and “Searching” separate but available at all times.

Seems like the Figma UI team wanted to change things up to look cool, because I can’t think of a user persona that would find digging through the UI to utilize a search feature, helpful. 😑

Hey All, thanks for your feedback!

With the recent release of Templates and tools, the new entry point for the Community is now through Home > Templates and tools. You can also go directly to figma.com/community in the browser.

We hear your frustration though. We’re collecting feedback in another feature request topic here. Our Community team is already using the feedback for reconsideration.

This is a really silly update. The community was absolutely fine as it was, and it’s so frustrating that I can’t find it in the desktop app. Feels like you are changing stuff just to change it? WHY? Photoshop has looked the exact same for at least the 20 years I have used it, so annoying Figma changes stuff all the time -- if it ain’t broken, DON’T FIX IT.

I really should not have had to Google where to find the Community. Spent the better part of 10 minutes trying to find where it was moved to. Way too difficult to locate.

Hello to everyone following this request — thank you for sharing your experience.

Good news: We’ve reintroduced the Community tab in the file browser for easier access. For full details, check out this product update: File browser updates: Community returns, plus a new Resources tab.

Community is important to all of us, and we’ve been working on the best ways to surface it within Figma. Your feedback keeps us on track — please keep it coming! 💯
