Question

'You can’t access this resource' error

Jeff Chamberlain

I’m signed in under my personal email in standard account. I have tabs currently open on my desktop that I can’t access. Some are drafts some are saved. I used to be associated with a previous company (Accolade) but my personal email would have not been used for that figma account. Some of the drafts that I’ve recently started are also not displaying in ‘recent files’. Please advise.

Hey @Jeff Chamberlain, sorry to hear this is happening!

Are you able to share any of the file links with us here? We can take a peek on the backend to see what may be happening.

I loaded this saved .fig file from my desktop to the figma browser and this loaded correctly. This is not displaying in the desktop app however. Some of the tabs I have on my desktop app were not exported/saved and these are not displaying in either desktop or browser figma. Thanks for you help.

I’m signed into [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII] in both

Thanks, @Jeff Chamberlain

I edited your reply to remove your email address for your privacy. I also confirmed on the backend that you are indeed the owner for this file, the owner of the team it exists within, and it is associated with your personal Figma account email address.

Since I can see it on the backend, can you please try reloading your tab in the desktop app to see if you’re still getting the same error?

Jeff Chamberlain

Yes, still getting same resource error on desktop. I did restart app and same response.

File shows in browser still.

Separately, in desktop app, I do see the correct content when I hover over each tab.

Hoping to keep this thread going.

There is one design file in my desktop app named ‘Jera’ that is not previously exported and that I would like to recover if possible. I can see content when hovering over tab but main screen has error message. This file does not display in browser figma account.

Hello,

I am having very similar issue. It is possible to open the file in the browser, but not with the app (it reports “You can’t access this resource” message? Do you know what might cause this weird behavior?

Thank you in advance

I’ve been working on a project using my personal account, and now I’m getting an error message “You can’t access this resource, Contact the owner, an admin, or support for assistance.” but I’m the owner of the project, could you please help me recover this file? it’s named “Silent Design System”, even my client can’t access it anymore.

Hey @ibrahim_azzoug , can you please also reach out to the support team as Denise mentioned? You can submit a bug report here.

Please use your Figma email account, and in the form, please include a link to this file or name of the file. This will help our support team to locate the file and see what may have happened. Thank you!
