Hi everyone,

I’m running into a strange shortcut behavior difference between my work and personal Figma accounts.

  • Platform: macOS (Turkish-Q keyboard)

  • App: Figma Desktop + Web (tested both)

  • Mode: Design mode, Move tool active, not in Prototype etc.

  • Issue: In my personal account, pressing ⌥ + ⌘ + ↑/↓ rotates the selected object. In my work account, on the exact same device and setup, the same shortcut correctly changes the layer order.

What I’ve tried (none fixed it):

  • Cleared Figma cache (~/Library/Application Support/Figma)

  • Removed and re-added both accounts

  • The behavior persists only in my personal account, even in the web app.

  • Switched keyboard layout between Turkish-Q and English (US)

  • Disabled all plugins

  • Tested in both Desktop and Web app

  • Confirmed Move tool is selected and Prototype/Dev/Draw modes are off

I’m stuck right now how to resolve this issue. I need a help.

Thanks in advance!

Useless update! I can’t imagine anyone rotating more than moving layers up and down in the list??

I thought I was going crazy. This changed exactly 2 days ago for me. I’ve been using CMD+OPT+Up/Down for years to move layers up and down and all of sudden it’s swapped to rotate. Please revert! Or allow us to choose which behavior we want.

You are not alone.

Follow this topic. some more info can be found there:

And they are already promoting it, even made a video. Maybe we can reach out to them and make them roll back this "accessibility" update. I can't imagine that anyone requested the shortcut to rotate an object by 1 degree.

Plz change back!!

Have been CMD+OPT+Up/Down for years!

I have on US keyboard and the other supposedly working shortcut doesn’t for me.

OMG, I can no longer move layers up or down in the layer stack without needing to manually locate it in the layer panel now. It’s awful and time consuming and breaks my flow state.

Please change it back.
