Publishing library breaks components in another file

Icon is sized incorrectly after updating latest from a published library.
Detaching the instance fixes the offset, but is obviously no longer a component.
Similarly I have a progress bar that is not obeying its fill and goes beyond its frame.
Detaching the instance fixes it.
It even affects text.

Very frustrating to have a bunch of my instances in other design files break every time I publish an update from my master component library. The janky workaround I have found is to change the top level parent instance that these button instances are in to another component and then undo it. That seems to refresh it, but seems random as to which components it decides to break when I publish.

I have cleared my desktop cache multiple times, repaired component connections, started over from a fresh file and nothing seems to fix it. There are no broken or invalid properties in my component library. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

i have the exact same issue in figma. it started today or at earliest yesterday!

in the components library all looks fine, but when the components are used in a layout file, suddenly many elements are offset or misaligned. everything worked before and i’m 100% sure the components were unchanged.

to me it looks like a display issue of figma. because when i reset the instance in the layout file the error remains. also publishing changes from the components library, randomly breaks other components in the layout while keeping the ones broken that were already broken. also the same component can have different display-errors in two different layout files (see screenshots)

i couldn’t yet find a solution to fix it.

layout file 1: misaligned icon buttons on the  top right between the two text fields
layout file 2: same component but this time the icons are all cropped and unscaled in all objects
library file: in the library the component looks correct

Hi everyone, Celine from Figma here! Thanks for sharing the details and for already trying a few fixes. I understand how this can disrupt your workflow, so I’ll make sure the team takes a closer look.

Since this kind of issue can have different root causes, the best next step is to submit a bug report with access to the affected files so the team can try to reproduce the issue on their side.

Please submit a bug report here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001744374

Include:

  • Screenshot or video recording so the team can better visualise and replicate the issue
  • link to the library file
  • link to one affected file where instances break
  • invite support-share@figma.com with “can edit” access (you won’t be charged for this)
  • Mentioned the steps you have done so far

@piffpaffpuff  : can you also running Quick Actions → Repair component connections again after publishing? Just to double-check if it changes anything on your end.

Thanks again for flagging this!
