I can’t find the italic versions of Noto Serif. I might be missing something but I’m not seeing them as available when selecting font weight. I tried on browser and desktop versions of Figma with no luck. The italic versions are available on Google Fonts though.

Normally, I would just download and add to my laptop through Google Fonts as a work around, but in this case that seems to make Figma read it as a local font which is unusable on Figma Sites.

Does anyone know what’s going on?

Dealing with the same issue. Downloading locally solves it in design, but not other places (it’s also just a pain to have to download it locally.)

Hi there,

Thanks for flagging this.

I tested on my side and was able to see the same issue. From what we’ve confirmed internally, it may take some time before the italic style of this font is added natively to Figma.

We know this isn’t ideal. For now, the alternative solution is to download the font locally and use it in your files.

That said, as you may already be aware, please note that Figma Sites currently only support Figma’s built-in Google Fonts, and local fonts aren’t available. : Use design tools in Sites

We’ve heard your feedback — you can also check this pinned post where local fonts on Sites are mentioned:

Please keep an eye on our release notes and blog for updates.

Thanks,
