I can't add a new editor to my account. My Tariff is Professional, I also deleted all the unnecessary editors. When the editor requests, I get nothing by email.

I understand you’re seeing the message “An admin needs to update this seat so they can edit” when trying to add a new editor.

 

From your screenshot, it looks like you’re trying to give someone “can edit” access to a file.

I checked on our end, and while you have a “Full” seat and “Can edit” permission on the Professional plan team, it seems you’re not an admin of that team.

 

On teams with paid plans, a collaborator needs both the correct seat type and “can edit” access to edit a file within that team.

  • Seat: determines which Figma products someone can use — Figma Design, FigJam, Figma Slides, etc.

  • Permission: determines what they can do in a team/project/file — Can view or Can edit.

According to the message, the collaborator you’re adding has requested the appropriate seat type needed to use edit access on that file, but the team admin needs to approve it.

Team admins can approve or decline seat upgrades according to their seat approval settings, since adding seats affects the team’s subscription and billing. Many teams enable seat approval settings to manage this.
