I'm experiencing an issue with the brush tool in Figma's drawing environment.

I have a simple drawing tablet with a pressure sensor. When I was drawing, I noticed that the stroke was responding to pressure – the harder I pressed with my pen, the thicker the line became, which was great!

However, this functionality suddenly stopped working. Now, no matter how much pressure I apply, the stroke remains uniform.

Has anyone encountered this problem before, or does anyone know what might have happened or how to fix it?

Hi @Leonardo_Braga, thank for reaching out!

I’m going to check in with our team internally to see if this is expected behaviour or if something might have changed. I’ll follow up with you as soon as I have more information.

Really appreciate your patience in the meantime!

I have the exact same issue, while using an iPad with sidecar.

This would explain why it’s not working. Is it broken for sure?

The “variable width” feature with pressure sensitivity seems to be gone since about a month ago.

Although it didn’t work well on Windows (see post below), on MacOS it worked great. It seems they removed the feature altogether instead of just disabling it on Windows while they work on fixing it.

It would really be nice if they re-enabled this feature on MacOS.

@Gayani_S Any updates on this feature yet? I’m eager to use this

Hi everyone, I’m really sorry for the late update here. I checked in with the team internally, and they confirmed a fix has been rolled out. If you’re still running into issues, could you share what device you’re using? We’ve seen different bugs show up depending on the setup, and that info will help the team troubleshoot more effectively.

Thank you,

Gayani

This would explain why it’s not working.

Figma web with Wacom Intuos + Macbook Air M4. I don’t see any fixes working for me at my end.

@Gayani_S Hi there, I just found this thread after trying to use Figma Draw for the first time on my Surface Laptop Studio (1st gen) and being surprised the app doesn’t register pen pressure.

Any other info you need besides the device I am using?

Was the fix for pressure sensitivity submitted on the beta app or the the stable release app?

Hey everyone - I’m checking in with the same team that originally was working on this to confirm if there was additional work done after the original fix that may have resurrected this problem, or if there’s a new issue overall.

I’ll try to relay updates as I receive them. Thank you!

Update: unfortunately, I was not able to get a conclusive report on what’s going happening on my end. However, I’d request that everyone write into our support team to report how the pressure sensitivity is working (or not working appropriately) on your end.

Please do the following if you have not yet:

Let me know when any of you have been able to do that, and I’ll try to escalate the case for further assistance.

Thank you!
