Figma change my integer values in the variables to decimals...

Why is it that even though I have preset integer values in the variables (font size, padding), Figma changes the integer values of the component’s child elements to decimals and doesn’t allow me to edit them? I have to detach the instance

before I can change the values back to integers. Why does this happen?

The font size should be 16 but it changes to 15.93
All the integer values in variables change to decimals
The variables cannot be selected

Hi @Lesleyx3x,

I understand you're encountering some issue where integer values of number variables are automatically changing to decimals when applied to nested elements within a component. You then have to detach the instance to revert them to integers.

I've tried to replicate this problem on my end, but I haven't been able to so far. I also couldn't find any internal reports of similar issues.

Looking at your screenshot, it appears that Auto Layout is applied, and decimals are visible in the Resizing section. This might be related to what you're experiencing, but I could be misunderstanding the exact scenario.

To help us really get what's going on and dig into this, could you share a video or some more screenshots? Please include your whole Figma screen so we can see both the layers panel and the properties panel for your main component and its nested elements.

That detailed view will really help us figure out what's happening and how we can best assist you!

Thanks,
