Copy/Paste Properties not working

Currently Copy/Paste Properties doesn't seem to work at all. I have 2 simple rectangles with different fill colors and strokes. I copy one, then paste properties on the other. Nothing at all happens.

This is in the standalone app on Windows.

Hey @letspretend, thanks for sharing a screen recording- really helpful! I reviewed it and it looks like the method you’re using is ‘Copy’, instead of Copy/Paste as > Copy properties, which might be why it’s not applying anything when you go to paste properties.

I went ahead and tested both approaches on my end, you can see this in my screen recording. When using the regular ‘Copy’ option, I saw the same result as you, no properties were transferred. But when I used Copy/Paste as > Copy properties and then use Paste properties on the second shape, it works as expected.

Could you try that method and see if it works for you as well? If it still doesn’t, let me know — I’m here to help troubleshoot further!

Oh, I see now there is a separate “Copy Properties” function. I am almost certain this didn't used to exist, at least it doesn't in other tools that have something similar. You just “Copy” and then “Paste” has several options.

Maybe I was just remembering it from other tools, where you just copy and then paste attributes. Dare I say makes more sense.

Hey @letspretend! You’re totally right, many tools handle this kind of functionality differently. Hey @Gayani_S, I’m having a similar problem. I’m trying to copy interactions from one variable to another and it isn’t working. I’m on a mac and I’m using the “Copy Properties” selections. Unfortunately, neither opt+cmd+C nor the copy properties in the edit menu appear to work.

Less than a week ago this was working fine, but since 6/7 or 6/8 I haven’t been able to perform this cut and paste function.

Evernote hijacked my opt+cmd+C shortcut at the global level. Had to disable in Evernote, works perfectly again.
