Can no longer see files in my draft folder that were created when i was in a different workspace

I understand you lost access to your draft files after changing workspaces.

Were those draft files located under “Drafts to move”?  If so, one possible reason is that your draft files were migrated due to updates made a while ago to how drafts work in Figma.

All Figma drafts now live within a specific team. If your files were previously in “Drafts to move,” they’ve been migrated into a team’s Drafts space.

Here’s how this process works:

1. Figma automatically moves drafts into the Drafts space of one of your teams.

2. If there isn’t an appropriate team to move them into, Figma creates a new, free Starter team for your drafts.

So first, please check the “Drafts” section in any team you have access to.
Next, you might also see a new team called “feryal’s Starter team.” Please switch to that team in your file browser and check both the “Drafts” and “Trashed” sections there.

If you’d like to move your drafts from that Starter team to your organization, you can refer to this guide: Transfer a project or team to a different account

If you still can’t find your files, do you happen to have the URL(s) of the missing drafts?
You might be able to locate them from:

• Desktop app: Right-clicking the tab → Copy URL, or via File > Recently Closed

• Browser: Your browser’s history

• Any previous messages or conversations where the file might have been shared with collaborators

Once you have the file URL(s), please share them here so I can escalate this issue to our internal team for a closer look.

Honestly, I have no memory of seeing them in Drafts to Move. I asked a colleague of mine to download some of my files and send them to me, but I’m still missing this one file for a Portfolio review I put together. There’s no way that file wasn’t in my draft folder, since it wasn’t related to one of my team projects. I don’t remember the exact name of the file since it’s been over a year since I put it together. I have the PDF i rendered from it, but not the original figma. Is there some way to access history to see all the files that were created by me, regardless of workspace?

I understand that the file wasn’t in “Drafts to Move,” which means it was likely located in one of your team’s Drafts spaces.

Just to confirm — have you already checked the Drafts spaces of all the teams you currently have access to, and you still can’t locate the missing draft file?

When it comes to viewing files regardless of workspace, the only option that comes to mind is the Recents page in the file browser. However, it may not include everything you’ve created.

As the next step, once you confirm the above, I’ll go ahead and create a support ticket on your behalf based on the information you’ve shared so far, so our team can take a closer look.
