Billing issue: seat changed to Full unexpectedly + repeated one-time charges

Hello Figma Support,

I’m having a billing issue with my seat/plan changes and I’d like your help understanding why I’m being charged.

What happened (timeline):

  • About a month ago, I changed my seat from Dev to Full, and then changed it back to Dev.
    I have an email confirmation that indicates I returned to Dev.

  • After that change, I was charged $20 for the Full seat + $10 under “One-time charges and credits.”

  • Now I’ve noticed my seat again shows as Dev (which it should have been the whole time), but for Jan 25 I’m being billed $30:

    • $15 for 1 Dev seat

    • $15 as “One-time charges and credits”

My questions:

  1. Why am I being charged these one-time charges again? What exactly are they for?

  2. How did my plan/seat end up on Full again (or appear to be Full) if I had already switched back to Dev?

  3. Why do I have to pay a transition/seat-change fee if I’m returning to the plan I should already be on?

  4. Can you please verify my account’s seat history and ensure my workspace is set to Dev going forward, and advise if any charges should be refunded/credited?

If helpful, I can provide:

  • the email confirmation about switching back to Dev,

  • invoice/receipt numbers,

  • workspace name and the billing page screenshot.

Hi ​@Daniil Borisov, thanks for reaching out! 

I completely understand your confusion over the prorated charges. To help clarify, from what I can see on the backend: 

  • You signed up with a Dev seat on Oct 25, 2025.
  • On Dec 10, 2025, you upgraded to a full seat, where you were charged a prorated amount for  full seat for the remainder of the current Billing cycle.
  • On Dec 25, 2025, you downgraded back to the Dev seat and were charged for a prorated amount for the Dev seat for the current billing cycle, since it was completed later in the day, after you were already charged for your full seat for the current billing cycle earlier on that morning. 

I can confirm that you now only have one Dev seat. My team here on the forum isn’t able to assist with Billing refunds or credits, so I’ve created ticket #1657404 on your behalf. Someone from the support team will review your account further an be in touch soon.
