I’m having an issue in my Figma Design file with colour library for past few days. Inside the colour library dropdown, the colours I have added from my Design System are not showing any thumbnail. I can see all the colour variable created in the Design System but none of the groups are showing colour thumbnails. Once I switch from grid view to list view in the colour library dropdown, I can see the complete list of all the colours and they are working correctly. But I’m still not seeing the colours thumnail associated to the variables. I’m attaching screenshots to give a better context of what the issue is. Any idea what I’m doing wrong or any suggestions to resolve this?

Not able to see the colours in colour library
Can see the colours in list view but colour thumbnail is still not visible

Having the same issue :(

Hi there,

I understand you’re running into an issue where the color thumbnails aren’t showing.

Based on the timing of your report, it’s possible you were affected by a recent issue that our engineering team has already fixed.

I tested this on my side, and the color thumbnails are appearing correctly now. Could you please try refreshing your tab to see if they show up properly for you as well?

Thanks for flagging this, and for your patience while our engineering team worked on resolving it.

hello.

The issue is still there. My team uses Figma online in Edge and Chrome browsers. We restarted our machines, browsers, refreshed and republished the library. No change.

Hi @jakub.wiechec ,

Thanks for following up. If this issue keeps happening in the browser, it might be a different underlying problem.

Could you please confirm a few details?

  • Are you seeing the issue in both the browser and the desktop app?
  • Does the issue occur in all files, or only in a specific one?
  • Is this affecting all team members, or only some of them?

This information will help us better understand the situation and find the best way to assist you.

Hello @Junko3

  • Are you seeing the issue in both the browser and the desktop app?
    • Issue is visible in browser version, both Edge and Chrome browsers. My team does not have the ability to use the desktop app so checking there is impossible.
  • Does the issue occur in all files, or only in a specific one?
    • All files except the library where the color variables were created.
  • Is this affecting all team members, or only some of them?
    • All team members are affected in the same way. We did not find any pattern related to machine or updates we are using (and we are using different machines).

Everything worked ok around 2-3 weeks ago.

Hey everyone - we believe this is now fixed. Can you all try refreshing by completely closing out the app (or web browser tab you are using Figma on) to see if things are back to normal?

Let us know if not.

Hello,

It is still not working for our enterprise spaces.

We noticed that it is not machine or browser related since private accounts on the same machine display the library thumbnails.

Colour thumbnails are only visible in the file that variables were created in. If the library is published, no other file than original displays the thumbnails.

This feature still isn’t working for our enterprise Figma accounts. The issue appears to be company-wide and has persisted for over a week. I’ve tried clearing the cache, removing and re-adding the library, but nothing has resolved it.

Hi there,

Thanks for following up. It seems that in this case, the issue you’re experiencing is different from the known issue our engineers have already fixed, so we’ll need to review the file directly.

@jakub.wiechec

I’m going to create a support ticket for you using the information you’ve provided. Someone from our team will contact you directly via the ticket email.
When you receive it, please reply to that email with the URL of the file and grant edit access to support-share@figma.com from the share modal. Your admin will need to approve the upgrade request for that account; however, please note that this won’t change the seat count for your plan, and you won’t be charged for the support-share account.

@Laura_Graham

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to confirm any associated Enterprise plan with the account you used to post here.

If you haven’t submitted a support ticket for this issue yet, we recommend doing so from the Figma account linked to your Enterprise plan, and please include the relevant file when submitting your request.

For other community members who may be experiencing a similar issue, it’s likely that individual investigation will be required. We recommend following the same process and submitting a bug report using this guide: Submit a bug report

Thanks,
