Hey everyone,

I'm working on a personal design project inspired by the game in the title. For context and to understand all the existing elements, I'm referencing the resources found here:

https://github.com/ibrahimprakasa/rfs-real-flight-simulator

My goal in Figma is to concept a full UI/UX redesign, specifically focusing on the hangar and the aircraft selection screens. I'm aiming for a more modern and functional look.

Project Breakdown:

  • Tool: Figma

  • Focus: Hangar UI, Aircraft Selection, and Livery Customization Screens.

  • Goal: A smooth interactive prototype with a clean visual interface.

The Main Figma Challenge:

My biggest issue is asset management for every single plane. With all aircraft variants, different liveries, and configurations, the number of visual assets is massive.

  • What's the best way to structure component variants for dozens of aircraft models without the file becoming incredibly slow and messy?

  • Should I be using SVGs or PNGs for the aircraft thumbnails to maintain prototype performance?

  • I want to create a prototype where users can swipe horizontally through all the planes in the hangar. Are there any specific tricks to make this feel really smooth and performant in Figma?

Questions for the Community:

Has anyone here worked on a design project for a game or an app with a similarly massive asset library?

I'd appreciate any advice on plugins for asset management or workflow tips to keep the Figma file organized and performant.

Thanks so much
