Hi! I’ve created a dialog component in one Figma Make file and I want to use it in another file.
What’s the best way to import or copy it over? Should I copy-paste it manually or is there a better way to reuse components across files in Figma Make?
Hi
Right now, the best way to move content between Figma Make files is to copy and paste manually. That said, I’ve passed your feedback along to the team.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share your feature request with us. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!
Figma Make doesn’t support importing or linking components between files. You can manually copy and paste frames or components, but they won’t stay connected or auto-update. To reuse components across files, use Figma Design with Libraries (available on paid plans). Make is meant for isolated prototypes, not shared systems. For better reusability, build in Design first, then move to Make for AI-driven apps or prototypes.
You can’t directly import one Figma file into another—use Copy/Paste between files or publish components/styles to a library and reuse them in the other file
