hey there.

we switched from Pro to Organisation. Then created teams for each client and moved our files.
Access in teams is set to ‘Everyone in >Organisation Name<’.

The problem, however, is that not all files are visible to the team members—only a few are shown. When we then add the user to the team, all files suddenly appear. But that doesn’t make sense if the access is set to ‘>Everyone in this organization<’, does it?

 

Question is:

Shouldn’t all team members be able to see all files if they are part of the organization? Currently, they can see the teams, but they only see the files if they are explicitly invited.

If they are only seeing the files they've been explicitly invited to, there are a couple of possibilities:

  • The file sharing setting might be set to "Only invited people." This means that only those you explicitly invite to the file (or the team it's in) will have access. You can find more details here: Organization plan permissions > Team files

  • Their account type might be "Guests." Just so you know, a Guest is someone in your organization who doesn't have a company email address. They can only see and access the specific resources they've been invited to. You can find more details here: Members versus Guests

 

If neither of these seems to be the case, then I'd recommend reaching out to our support team directly by submitting a support request from here.

When you submit, please use your Figma account email and include the team URL, as well as a user account in question. This will help our team to take a closer look at the permissions for your Organization.

Access is set to “everyone in this organization”. This seems to be a bug with older files that are moved in to new teams. Contacted support, but only getting AI Answers.
