I've created a simple interactive component. A dropdown that's closed by default, opens on click, and should close again when clicked a second time. It works as expected within the same Figma file where I built it, but when I copy it into another Figma file, in to a frame, only part of the interaction works: the dropdown opens on click, but it doesn’t close on the second click.

If anyone has any insight or suggestions, I'd really appreciate the help!

Hi there!

Thanks for describing the issue so clearly.
Would it be possible to share a screenshot of the prototype settings for your interactive component?
That might help identify where the problem occurs when copying it into another file.

Hope we can figure it out!

Sure, Here is an screenshot. Thanks!

Hi there!

I ran into the same issue recently and found a workaround that seems more reliable. If you connect the interaction directly to the text element, it keeps working even after copying the component into another file.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I will give it a try. But I find it quite disturbing that such an easy interaction still doesn’t work well.

I tested it and unfortunately it doesn’t work for me. The drop down opens on click but doesn’t close.

Sorry it’s still not working as expected. I’ll check again and see if there’s another workaround. I’ll update you if I find anything useful.
