Hello everyone. I’m looking into upgrading our team to a Professional plan, but I’m extremely confused by what that entails.

Inside our current free project we have 3 files. All of them have a couple of people with editing rights. However, when I look into who is a member of the project’s team overall, there’s just my account. What happens when I upgrade?

I’ve read quite a few horror stories already about Figma adding up costs to each “can edit” account, but since they’re not featured in our team, I’m doubly confused. Can anyone please clarify?

When you upgrade, you will immediately see how many people you would be paying for. Not sure why they are not shown in the team but yes, you would need to pay for every editor in every file.

Thanks for the reply! Follow-up question, when I go to pay for the subscription, I can indeed see the accounts included as editors to the aforementioned files. If I pay only for my seat, will that automatically downgrade the rest of the accounts to “can view”? Or do I have to do that manually.

They will be downgraded. When you click the checkboxes on the payment screen, you can see this toast:
