Chrome Local Network Access policy will make plugins published within the organization unavailable

Chrome version 142 will enable the Local Network Access policy, aka LNA (https://developer.chrome.com/blog/local-network-access). This will prevent plugins published within your organization from working because LNA requests within iframes will be restricted.

The LNA policy will take effect on October 28, 2025.

To experience the LNA policy: In Chrome, input chrome://flags/#local-network-access-check and enable the flag.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Maybe this is a way to slove it, but plugin iframe is controlled by Figma.

Hey @shijia.me - thanks for sharing your concern here. We definitely don’t want your plugin capabilities disrupted.

I do see that you’re chatting with Craig via email about this. If you have additional suggestions or questions, please continue the conversation with him via email (just so things don’t get added to 2 separate places and cause confusion).

Thank you for your reply.

The LNA policy is about to take effect, and it's important to speak out in the community so more people can avoid similar issues. I'll also keep this post updated with any further progress. Thank you again for your response.

I’ve published a plugin to my organization. The plugin makes network requests to an external API. Some users are now not able to use it in Figma through Chrome because they had not granted Figma.com Local Network Access permissions. What is the best way to handle this? The LNA popup in Figma doesn’t say anything about Plugins potentially not working and I don’t think there’s a way for the plugin to detect when the access is not granted so it could instruct the users to grant the permission?
