Hi all,

I was charged for an extra design seat recently which I did not expect. For added info, I am on a professional team plan.

This happened when I was backing up files that I had worked on from another team. I did so by making a duplicate of the Figma file and transferred it to my account. What I didn’t realise was this somehow created an extra design seat automatically for the owner of the file. I only realised after I was billed.

(Yes I did receive a reminder email before I was charged, but I did not open it as I wrongly assumed the same number of seats to be billed.)

This is upsetting because there was no indication that the duplicate action would cause this to happen. I read elsewhere that I should have probably saved it as a .fig file instead, but that sounds like an unnecessary added step.

Is there someway to improve on this, for e.g. I could have been shown a toast or notification with this information?

Also to clarify abit further, I believe the user I am transferring files from is also on a professional team plan, just that they are not a member under my team (which caused a design seat to be created)
