Hi!
My team has a Professional plan. The admin is the person who is responsible for the organization billing and the person who has access to the credit card.

However she is not a designer and my manager does not agree in paying a licence for someone that really won’t use it. It doesn't make sense.

According to Figma documentation the View seat doesn't allow the user to manage the billing.
Is there any other way to allow her to take car of teh billing without needing the Full seat?

Thanks!

Hi @ricardo.hippert,

I understand your team admin needs to manage admin tasks but won't be using Figma's design features, and you're looking for a way for this.

Yes, this is possible! Admins can perform administrative tasks, including managing team billing, without needing a paid Figma seat.

Paid seats are specifically for granting edit access to Figma products. So, you simply need to assign the person admin permissions and a View seat. You can find more details here: Manage team permissions

Specifically, under the "Professional" tab in that guide, you'll see this line: Select Admin to give them admin access. They can change team settings, adjust permissions, and manage team billing. If they do not need edit access to files, assign them a View seat

Hope this helps clarify things for you and your team!

By the way, could you please let us know which specific Figma documentation led you to believe that a View seat doesn't allow billing management? If there's any misleading wording, we'd love to pass that feedback to the relevant team for review.

Thanks,

Hi @Junko3 ,

I will follow your advice and try the View seat.

About the documentation, this is the URL. I just noticed that the page refers to Organization and Enterprise plans.

It says:

Figma Make someone a view-only admin.

If you have admins that don't need access to teams and files, you can update their seat to view. This will allow them to manage aspects of the organization without being included in the organization’s billing.

So, my mistake, sorry.

Thanks a lot for the help!
