Figma desktop app is out of date (+stopped working on mac os 10.13.6)

My Mac is capped at 10.14, would love to use an older version of the app. Please release it.

The worst part of it is that it seems like browser version doesn’t work with Figma agent as well, so you can’t use any of your desktop fonts. So using Figma now became useless for me as well…

Work fine I have same version, People just never, ever push the button update now.
So, Sad @Celine_Figma support is not helpful, well life is like this, don’t worry we will survive, even if we have to crack the app from now.

I don’t want to update my Mac since it has a lot of dependencies and don’t need to. I used an older version of the Figma app to have run since the incompatibility was completely arbitrary and just a planned obsolescence scheme, even though that was annoying as the app violates you into updating without choice or consent so I had to use a lot of trick to prevent that.

But now even though the app perfectly works on my system, I receive a new violating notification: “Figma desktop app is out of date!” which after exploring the app files and logs is completely false.

Some colleagues have already stopped using it, but now I’m considering outright banning it given how unreliable the app is because of these forced update and completely arbitrary incompatibilities. Even Adobe products let you use any older version you want without forcing you, the fact that Figma wasn’t bought out but is doing worse it telling of the policy and future of this app…

You are not alone. Dealing with the same nonsense. Its sad that we are forced to use new technology that is worse than old technology just so we can line the pockets of the tech industry. Planned obsolescence is real and completely absurd. Why should I have to pay apple thousands of dollars for a laptop that I know is going to stop working after a couple years just so I can use Figma… :melting_face:

My Mac is still an older device with an Intel chip,running on version 10.14.6.I don’t want to update the device for now.Is there any way to continue using it?

Trying to figure it out, you could use older version that they’re were forcing you to update unless you block it, now they’re arbitrarily forcing the app not to work

This isn’t really a solution as much as a lot of words that dont explain anything. In so many words you are saying sucks to be poor get a newer computer. :upside_down_face:
