Hello! I’ve already reached out to Support for this and submitted a ticket, but I wanted to post this here as well.
Files from the past three (3) months have disappeared from my Figma account, many of which I regularly open and use. They are not in my deleted drafts, nor are they files that have been shared with anyone else. Here are the things I’ve already tried:
Checked deleted folder - they’re not there.
Adjusted filters to “Created by anyone” - nothing shows.
Checked teams and sub-folders within teams - nothing.
Used the search bar to find by title - nothing appears (and I name all my files, so I know how to find them).
Tried logging out and logging back in - no change.
Some users had the same issues in other forum posts and chalked it down to a bug that hides a bunch of files, making them appear as if deleted even though they’re not. I’ve tried just about everything and nothing can find them. Again, these files are not deleted.
We made Updates to how drafts work back in June. All drafts need to be associated with a Team. Any Drafts not under a team were placed in Drafts to move. That said, please check the “Deleted” section of your “Drafts to Move” folder:
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve actually already moved all drafts to teams and have nothing in my deleted drafts tab, which I’ve checked for each team several times. The issue still remains that the files don’t exist anymore, despite them being in my account as of recent and not having been deleted by me. Support has told me that there’s not much they can do and suggested that I check my browser history for the links, but I use the desktop app for Figma and not the web version.
I completely understand if nothing can be done but it just worries me that moving forward, I’m at risk of this happening again with larger/more important files - if that makes sense!
I’m having the same issue. I clicked on the “move to drafts” button and several files from the past 3 months are missing from my account. Files I was working on when it happened are gone and are not found in the “deleted drafts” section
I’ll pass what I’ve suggested here over to support as well on your ticket #1128643. Thanks for your understanding and working with support directly.
We have no plans to make any additional changes to drafts. As long as your current drafts and any future drafts are properly associated with a team, we do not expect your to have any further issues.
I was able to locate the file within a deleted team: Group 10 | DTTP Product Design
It looks like it was deleted a couple of days ago on the 21st, but I managed to restore it on the backed. Please let me know if this helped restore the remaining missing files as well!
I am having the same problem. Most of my files just disappeared. Only 1 is still listed. I don’t see a “Drafts to Move” heading, just “Drafts.” There is nothing in Drafts. I definitely did not delete anything, I update those projects frequently and create new ones. A new Teams project that I didn’t make was created 4 days ago.
Just wanted to pass along an update from Support on this - they were unable to find my files, which are still considered missing in my account. There was nothing on the backend that showed any deletion of files created between the end of May and August. From this point on, Support can’t do anything more and I have nothing else to provide to them that might help.
If possible, I’d like to leave this topic open, as it seems like some users are running into the same problem and are seeking help through here. Thanks!
I have the same problem. I posted about it below.
Also, apparently I can’t access my 1 remaining file, it says I can’t edit it and a request has been sent to “the editors.” Who are they?
I took a peek at your account associated with the same email as your forum account on the backend, and it looks like all of your files are under the Team “cal”.
As mentioned above, if your drafts/files were not associated with a team as of June, after some time, they were moved to a free Starter team. You should still be able to see your files if you’ve selected your cal team in your file browser.
All of this to say that any of your drafts that were not associated with a team were moved into an existing free starter team. This was your “cal” team for your account.
