Over the past couple of weeks, i’ve noticed that many of my previously assigned text styles are detaching on their own, even those that were applied a long time ago. They detach in copies, in source file everything is fine.
Tons of text styles have magically detached. I spent hours trying to figure out what went wrong, relinked them, only to find they’re detached again. This has been going on for several days now.
I still haven’t figured out why. My frustration has gone through the roof.
Edit: It happened again… These inputs were fine like 2 hours ago.
I’m having the same issue! Text styles have been detaching from layers out of nowhere. In the components, everything is fine, but in the instances, they just become unlinked. I’ve tried resetting them, but after a while, they detach again. It’s super frustrating, especially when trying to make quick edits.
Would really appreciate any advice on how to fix this.
Thanks for flagging. I’ve checked in our internal system but it doesn’t seem there’s an urgent bug at the moment. Could you check the below please?
Are you using local or Shared Organization fonts? If so this may be caused by the use of conflicting font files across your team. This means that editors on a file are using different versions of the font with slightly different sizing or spacing which then affects the file each time it is opened by someone with a different version.
Our Help Center has more information about resolving this kind of issue: Manage conflicting fonts
We suggest that you have all editors remove these fonts if they are locally installed and then all install the same version locally. You will then need to restart Figma to serve the correct font version. Alternatively, you can ask all team members to delete their local font versions and ask an organization admin to upload the font files as shared fonts. You can read about that feature in our Help Center: Manage fonts in an organization
After installing the font files, if this is affecting component appearance you can launch quick commands (cmd /) then use the ‘Regenerate all instances’ tool to refresh all of your instances at the same time.
