Can't merge my own approved branch

The issue just happened to me today.

I am the product lead at my company.
I am the owner of the file.
I created the branch.
And i cannot merge without asking a fellow designer to approve my changes.
I also couldn’t address a conflict with the main file (no buttons appeared allowing me to select the main or the branch).

I have the same issue right now. I own the library file, I created a branch and I cannot merge my own changes to the file I’m owning. It’s sad.
