Hello, Figma doesn’t seem to support Canadian Syllabics which generally render fine using Arial Unicode: ᣃᐉᐄᐆ
However with the same font selected (Arial Unicode MS) those glyphs show up as empty spaces. Anyone had similar issues? Is there a way to get these glyphs rendered in Figma?
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m checking with our internal team. I will get back to you when I have anything I can share with you.
Thanks for your patience.

HI there,
Thanks for flagging. It could be a feature limitation at the moment, but there’s workaround you can try.
- Please make sure you have local fonts enabled, if you have a specific font you want to use.
- You may also already have Noto Sans Canadian Aboriginal or Euphemia ECAS on your system and it will automatically be made available in Figma, and you can use it there. If you don’t, you can install Noto Sans Canadian Aboriginal from Noto Sans Canadian Aboriginal - Google Fonts
I was able to render Noto Sans Canadian Aboriginal like above once it was installed. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out!
Thanks,
Toku
