Figma cant see the new installed fonts

Hello everyone!

About a month ago i noticed that Figma cant see the new fonts, then i decided to go to another program to finish my work, thinking that Figma (after the big upgrade) needs a time to detect the new font files.

Now i am in the situation when i cant work without Figma. I spent about 4 hours reading the forum and useless articles in case i can find the solution. And no! The problem is still here.

I tried:

  1. Install and uninstall Figma Desktop
  2. Install and uninstall Figma Font Installer
  3. Restart my macbook
  4. Tried to work from browser (nothing changed, no fonts)
  5. Troubleshoot/clear cache (OF COURSE!)
  6. I even have tried to put the font in Figma with mac os console

I am loosing my hope to solve this naughty small problem. How can i fix this? Any ideas?

MacOS 15.0 Sequoia (24A335)
Figma Desktop App version 124.6.2

Hi there! Sorry to hear this is happening. Yes, I confirm that usually installing and uninstalling Figma Font Installer helps to fix the issue.

To cover some basics here, it seems you are encountering an issue related to managing missing fonts.

As included in the guide, these are the most common reasons for missing fonts:

  • Missing installed fonts: collaborators are using a local font, which you don’t have installed.
  • Conflicting versions: collaborators are using a different (older or newer) version of the font.
  • Missing font styles: Either the style was missing from a download, or you are using a different version of the font which doesn’t include that weight or style.

If you have this font already installed on your computer, you’ll need to follow the instructions to Access local fonts on your computer.

If you’ve followed these instructions and are seeing the notification that Local Fonts are enabled in your Figma account settings then it’s possible that the font you’ve installed is not the same version as the one used in the File. To resolve this, we suggest you ask the File’s creator to send over the Font version used to create the File. Once you install this version, you’ll need to restart Figma to serve that version.

Alternately, if you want to use the version stored on your computer you can select the correct weight in the toggle of that Missing Fonts warning menu. Please note this changes the font version for all editors on the File and so can generate the same error for any other editors who have a different version installed.

If the issue still occurs, please reach out directly to the support team for further investigation: here
Please use your Figma account email, include a link to the file, and add support-share@figma.com as an Editor, so they can take a closer look. Thank you.
