About 30-40% of images I placed in a file aren’t fully loading and showing up as blurry. I’ve restarted my computer, closed my browser, closed the desktop app, pasted to a new page, pasted to a new file… nothing is working. 5 years never ever had an issue like this.
Hello @anon13652645, Thank you for reaching out about blurry images. I understand how frustrating that can be.
In Figma, high-resolution images are only downloaded for the current viewport, while lower quality versions are loaded for images outside your view. This helps improve performance when loading a file. If you have a lot of high-resolution images, they may initially appear blurry.
I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting this issue. If you are still experiencing low-resolution images, you can try the following too:
- Close any other Figma files
- Check your internet speed and connection to make sure your device is online
- Using the desktop app: right-click on the file’s tab and select Reload Tab.
Furthermore, browser extensions like ad blockers can sometimes prevent images from loading properly in presentation view.
In that case, please try disabling the extension or adding figma.com
to the extension’s allow list. The process for this may vary depending on the extension, so please refer to the documentation for the specific extension you are using.

Im having the same issue, the high resolution image on unsplash loses its details when exported to a frame in Figma, i checked the image size and everything still looks blurried any solution?
Hey @fitore_fidan, did you already try all of the suggestions listed above?
This usually happens due to a high image quality as well as the size of the file. (Especially if there are a lot of layers and content within the file).
One thing, new recommendation to help with image loading, if possible, split the file into multiple smaller ones. The images should load in faster (more successfully too if there are timeouts currently). Then, with the image you’re trying to export in your current viewport, fully loaded, try exporting again.
