Give admins more granular control over user permissions

Recently a new member of our team (who was granted edit privileges) deleted our component library file, which led to a series of issues until I, the admin, realized what had happened and restored the file from trash.

However, there was a chance that I never would have realized what happened, or that the user could have gone into the trash and permanently deleted that file, both of which are horrifying outcomes when it means re-creating the design system and all documentation from scratch and then replacing component instances across dozens of files with the new one.

It would be FANTASTIC if I, as the admin, could prevent editors from deleting certain files, whether that’s on a per-file basis or with an across-the-board rule like “you can only delete files that belong to you” or “you can’t delete files in this project.”

Such an option on all the paid plans and up would definitely help me sleep better at night!

    Please provide such a level of permissions. Because we had a horrifying experience as well

    Facing a similar issue right now. We’ve communicated to our team that the Component Library is not to be edited by anyone without explicit permissions and now I have folks in there that are set to View Only but because of their license level STILL have edit access running amok in the file. How can I lock them down when verbal communication isn't working?

    Could you develop the functionality where only certain elements — for example, a specific text field that we share with the product owner — are granted edit permission for that single element or specific text area. For example, I want to note in the documentation I include in my file the different objectives in terms of metrics or key indicators we want to achieve with a new flow that was worked on in that Figma file. That's where I'd like the product owner to be the one who can edit that text, since these are indicators that come from the business area and could be documented in my Figma file.
