Export as an 8 bit PNG

I found an existing topic but no answer at all.

Is it true we really can’t use figma to export an 8 bit PNG?

For websites we cannot have such large file sizes in images. I’m surprised this is the case and there is no work around except use Photoshop

Hey All, so sorry for the delayed reply!

Yes, it is true. This isn’t possible. Because Figma exports to sRGB with an Alpha channel, it will always be 32 bit on PNG export (8 bits per color channel).
