After delay - New intreactions cancelling out old ones

I’m having an issue with prototyping a component set. Its meant to be a moving animation but when I link one variant to another it cancels out the previous interaction. Example - I used after delay to connect variant 3 to 4 but when I try to connect 4 back to 3, the interation deselects the prior interaction. Has anyone had issues with this?

You’re probably better off copying variant 3, making it variant 5, and have the variant 4 transition to variant 5 instead of 3.
