In our case, and in many other cases, developers are english-speaking, but work with a product in a different language. This means, that we as designers, create handovers that have both languages available. It would be great, if there were a better way to implement translations into a dev-handover, rather than adding text boxes beneath each frame (which is the current practice).
Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your idea! We greatly value your feedback, and we would like to gauge the reaction of other members in the community. We may consider it for future enhancements!
Thanks,
Toku
I am also in that situation and I would really like to have a feature like a toggle that temporarily switches the text in mockups from e.g. German to english. That would also give the benefit if the designer needs to be aware of extra-long words and so on…
I found plugins that can do that but they translate everything automatically and save it to the file. So we would need some kind of indestructible solution.
Another, little less cool, option could be to just select a frame / text-area and see a translation in the inspect panel.
Currently we also are working on a german software so this is our main language and the developers are all Non-german speaking, so for them its really hard to understand the mockups and get an idea of some details.
Currently we sometimes also add notes to some sections/frames with translation or we also use a mac tool called https://maclinguist.com/ that can translate while hovering and holding “Control”.
So also from our end thumbs up for a feature that would help multilingual-teams.
