Please bring the floating panels BACK! why did you remove them??? based on unprofessional users??? at list give us the option to choose…
This has nothing to do with being a professional or not. It has to do with usability. Or in a sense ‘being used to’.
Apparently the users disliked the floating things (as did I) and Figma listened to their user base… and returned the old interface.
Personally I also want the top bar back. This would mean the tooling like Components, and Boolean operators would return to their rightful place.
But I will post a new topic for that.
It has nothing to do with usability. “disliked” does not mean the UI is not usable or creates difficulties for the users. It is 100% UI issue and not a UX issue. Like you said the users were just being used to something else. If Figma really listens to users, they would at least give us the option to choose between the 2.
why not use Windows 95 if you don’t like progress so much?
I disagree. For example, hiding the selective options (red square) inside a submenu does not improve UX. Makes something more complex, just because a floating bar was introduced. I get why they chose to do it. But not why it had to be hidden. Maybe adding the options to the bottom floating bar could be another solution.
An option to choose would be nice though. Just like you can choose to not upgrade from Windows 95. Which we haven’t really. The UI of Windows is still somewhat the same. They did not move menu’s to a new location, now did they? /sarcasm.
