Layer visibility for viewonly users

Hello,

I’m writing as a frontend developer.
I received a figma UI design, but I only had viewonly privileges. Because of this I couldn’t see some hidden layers which were a different aspect of a UI element. I know this situation can be avoided by the designer, if he makes prototypes to show the different aspects or simply makes the design editable for the developer. However I still don’t see the point of hiding the visibility switch for viewonly users. Please make it available for everyone.

If this issue was discussed before I apologize.
Anyone faced this problem too?

Hey All, so sorry for the lack of acknowledgement here!

Right now, the only way for view only users to unhide/show layers is for their role to be upgraded from Viewer to Editor, or to have someone with edit access to update the layer.

Since this topic is already a feature request, we’ll be sure to pass on this feedback to our collaboration team for consideration.

Would love to have this feature for viewer roles. A great practical use is to create an layer for Accessibility annotations. Not all stakeholders needs this information and also developers would like to see the design clearly without the annotations.
