Improve readability of frame and section titles

It would be helpful provide options to edit the appearance of frame and section titles. When I lay out my files, I like to label frames and sections in the artboard so that a person not familiar with the project can quickly see which frames deal with a specific feature. The titles for frames and sections are hard to see when scanning for a specific frame.

I could see frame titles being editable or interactive in the following ways (I am sure there could be others):

  1. Font size
  2. Font weight
  3. Font color
  4. A feature where a user hovers over the title and it becomes larger.

Hey Rick, thanks for your feedback on improving readability of frames and section titles! We will pass it along to our team for consideration.

Yeah, I think font color changes would be good. The font size increases/decreases when you zoom, but it’s greyscale and it’s still a bit small. Something like the attached.

As a follow-up to this post, I recently found this plug-in. I haven’t worked with it yet, but it looks promising.

It would be great to further customise frame labels to our own liking, or set the default for a certain design/in the library - for example if we want any user to be able to easily see what’s what in a design from the label.

In addition to Rick’s four suggestions, if users could:

  1. toggle frame label visibility on & off
  2. adjust at what percentage zoom they become visible/not visible

Otherwise we find ourselves creating text labels that sit just above the frame or next to it, so that anyone who goes into the board can easily see what's what. This can become a bit difficult to maintain, for example when needing to move things around labels get forgotten, or when at certain zooms the actual frame label is visible & obscures the more obvious label we’ve made above it (as positioning next to the frame is not preferred because it takes up valuable screen space).
