You have the option Star your favorite files and projects to quickly access them from the sidebar of the file browser. I’d recommend to check out our Help Center article: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038511513-Star-your-favorite-files-and-projects.

You will get notified when your file request has been approved or declined via an email and in-app notification. After that you can go ahead and star the file.
