Hi,

Crop tool should snap to image border instead of being able to go out of bound.

Thank you

Hey @Nicolas11, thanks for the feedback!

To make sure we fully understand, can you please clarify what you would prefer to see when using the crop tool? Is it that you would you prefer that Figma completely deleted the outer cropped area?

Right now, cropping images is a non-destructive process, so the cropped area of an image does not get deleted. This way, you can quickly make changes to the crop by repeating the cropping process again.

To quickly crop an image, you can also hold ⌘ Command for Mac or Control for Windows while clicking and dragging the corners of the image.

Hi @dvaliao — I have this same issue and wish this feature was implemented. I will try to explain it: For images, users have the ability to select “Crop,” “Fit,” “Fill,” and “Tile.” When “Crop” is selected, users can double-click on the image to move the source image within the crop mask. There are little blue angles in the corners indicating where the crop will be. However, when you drag the image in the crop mode, there is no behavior that locks the edge of the image to the edge of the crop zone when you get within a few pixels. This means that your image is often a few pixels away from the actual crop boundaries. It would be useful to have an option to snap to the edge when nearby to prevent this issue.
