It will be great when you’re dealing with complex components with multiple variants and you want to edit the names, bulky, with Numbers like $nn and $NN to consider the multiedit.
Right now, if you want to do that, all your layers will be renamed sequentially. For example, you want to bulk edit 5 layers in 10 variants resulting in 50 names. Bulk rename would give them names from 1 to 50, while I expect to have from 1 to 5 on all variants.
I hope that makes sense, but it will be a game changed for handling and maintaining complex components
