I often duplicate existing mocks to work on feature updates. Deleting previous annotations one by one is extremely tedious. It would be helpful if the tool could recognize when a frame has been duplicated and then allow bulk clearing of annotations.

Hey @Aram1, thanks for the feedback and sorry for the frustration!

This definitely seems like something many in the community can benefit from. We’ll pass this onto our team for future consideration.

Maybe “extremely tedious” was a bit… extreme, as it’s not so bad lol. But I would love to see this update because I hit this issue several times a week. Love annotations though. Very useful.

+1, especially if you’ve duplicated a page or file (say, for a new a/b test) and must then clear all of the old annotations out one-by-one. Thanks for raising, @Aram1!

I came here looking for solution, glad this has been passed to figma team. Thanks for raising this.

Missing a feature to remove all annotations from a file at once. Screens are often copied from one project to another and the existing annotations are not relevant anymore. Removing them one by one is time consuming.

@Aram1 Depends how many annotations you have. For me, it HAS been “extremely tedious” :P

Coming back to this 8 months later I’d say the initial extremely tedious label was pretty spot on lol. But apparently not enough feel the same because I haven’t really seen any movement on this.

Searched Google for this same problem expecting a solution, but guess we’re still in the backlog.

+1000 this is reaallllyyy tedious.

+1 I just started using annotations and this is one of the first things I noticed.

For people reading this in the future. This is now fixed.
Right click on an Annotation → Remove annotations
If you have multiple frames, you can select them all, then remove in one click :)

I don’t believe this is the case. There is only the option to ‘Remove annotation’, singular.

I’m currently having to go in and remove many of them manually for a client version.
Very frustrating.

I’ve created a Figma plugin for this purpose… and a lot more goodies when working on annotations.

It’s on it’s way to be reviewed, wish me luck! :)

Plugin has been approved. You can get it here:
