Hi
I think it’s necessary to allow the canvas background to change based on Figma’s current theme.
It’s #F5F5F5 by default but it should also have another color for the time Figma’s theme is set to dark.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll pass your feedback to our team for potential future iterations.

Yes. Not being able to set this is a real hinderance to me. With the color profile on my main monitor I can barely make out the panels our design team created from the background color of the canvas. Everything bleeds together.

As a developer I don’t have access to edit our design team’s files, and I’m not interested in forcing my needs on the rest of the team, so having the canvas background pair with the UI theme would allow viewers a toggle to switch between canvas background colors to suit their personal needs without having to request changes that affect the whole team.

This also makes sense from a model perspective. The project canvas is not a part of the design, it’s a part of the UI experience. Having it coupled to the project design is counter to its role and unintuitive. This leads to me wasting my time trying to find a solution every time I have to work on a project where the design team used Figma.
