Responsive fonts are adapted during the smart animate transition.
This disrupts the desired animation.
Fonts using variables should be cached in hidden states.
Locking the mode to MD for the cards when the entire screen is on mode LG works…
but then my composition is fake because it’s not the good font sizes !
Also seeing this issue and completely agree with the recommendation regarding variables as we are using variable modes in our library and when we use a component in a different mode than the default, we are seeing this issue manifest itself as a component relies on smart animate between states. The smart animate references the default value during the transitioning before animating back to the desired mode value.
