Hi all, same issue here, but not with FigJam. I have edit permissions on a Figma file which I’ve been able to edit until today (29 November). I’ve tried logging out and logging back in, clearing my cache, and having someone remove and add me back as a collaborator on both the desktop app and browser. Also using macOS Big Sur. Would appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!

Hey @Paper_Fan,

Here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on a Mac:

  1. Quit the Figma desktop app

  2. Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma/”{Desktop,DesktopProfile}

  3. Try opening the desktop app again

Hi, I have the same issue on Figma and Figjam, I appear to be editor but I’m stuck on view only mode. I’m using Windows. Need help immediately, thanks.

We have a professional team plan and facing the same issue.
Sometimes only file creator has edit access when they create a new project within the team and members have view only access.
This creates unnecessary steps for team members to give edit access to people individually.

Ariunaa_Ganbat

We have a Professional team plan and have the same issue that members with an editor’s permission can’t have access to files on the team projects. Is there any solutions to this bug?

Currently experiencing the same bug. On a Professional team plan as well, and we’re unable to edit even if user is the “owner” of the file and even when all members have editor access. It’s not working on either browser or desktop app. And we’ve even cleared the cache. Help!

same thing here, like everyone else, I’ve tried:

  • logging out
  • logging back in
  • uninstalling app
  • reinstalling app
  • clearing browser cache
  • clearing app cache

Still just see “View only” this is 100% blocking me, how can we resolve this?

Hey @Gal_Kalif, sorry for the delay! It looks like you’ve already been working with Rin via email today.

Hey ! yes I have, but this is going nowhere for now,
I needed to start working on my projects already as I’m the only designer and I need to deliver projects… this is very urgent (already a week now) and I haven’t received any solution yet,
Please help me figure this out asap! I appreciate your help,
Gal

Jennise_Garcia

Hi, I just lost access to editing figjam files I am the owner of as well.

I tried to clear cache, log-out & login, I get the same issue in every browser and desktop app.

The error displayed shows “Missing Font Replaced”

I can add stickies, shapes, text boxes, but cannot type into any of them or edit any of the existing text.

The only text field that I can edit is the title to a Section.

I’m experiencing this issue as well. Is there somewhere I should be submitting a bug?

Nathan_Digre

I am experiencing the same problem as Jennise_Garcia.
this started after updating the Mac OS to Big Sur 11.7.2

At first, when trying to open a FigJam file there was an error message that it could not load the Editor (I didn’t record the exact language)
I cleared the Cache, restarted and then I was able to open the file.

Now:

The error displayed shows “Missing Font Replaced”
I can add stickies, shapes, text boxes, but cannot type into any of them or edit any of the existing text.

I read about the missing font being “Inter”
I found Inter and installed it

Still have the same problem

Mary_Oakland

I was added as an admin to an existing team and am having this same problem. Has this not been resolved?

Arslan_Golic

I also have this problem, my client tried to even add me as a owner and admin but still cannot edit fig jam files, create new figjam files and even had problems with regular figma files.

Hi all,
Could you try first these workarounds:

  • logging out and back in
  • clearing your browser/desktop app’s cache
  • un-installing and re-installing the desktop app

If you are still running into issues, please reach out to the team so they can collect some datas to investigate further: here. Thank you!
