Spoken Content (Mac) Figma not working

I use Mac’s Spoken Content feature a lot; it helps provide different dynamics when proofreading. It works once, if you restart Figma but not the second time… Basically, the Mac reads you back highlighted copy with a hotkey. Funnily enough, a few Adobe products have this problem as well.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hey @Martin_Murray - I touched base with our accessibility team on this.

To start, only one text layer should be selected for spoken content to work correctly – if you’re selecting multiple layers, it will not function correctly (accessibility is aware of this).

Just for additional feedback context, is this when you use Figma via web browser? If so, which browser are you using?

Hi! I am doing the same. I use the spoken content a lot, and I need help to have the content read even with one layer; it will not read even when I select the text. I am using Macbook Pro as an application, not using browsers. Will love to see if there are otherways going about this.

Hey @Noel_Ng, thanks for following up and sorry to hear this!

Is your desktop app up to date and what macOS are you using? With more details, we can flag this over to our accessibility team to investigate further.

I have a MackbookPro, Chip Apple M3Max, Memory 36GB. I updated Figma, and it is working ok now! Thanks for getting back to me!
