Everything is redlined, but no suggestions.

It is driving me nuts.

Any ideas why is this happening?

From the screenshot, it seems the red underlines might be coming from your computer’s system settings or another app, rather than Figma’s built-in spellcheck. I’d recommend checking your device’s keyboard autocorrect or spellcheck settings to ensure they’re configured properly.

I’m on a Macbook Pro Sonoma 14.7.1 .

I tried turning off the OS spell check.

It is actually showing some random string as suggestions in some cases.


Make sure you chose english language in spell check settings

We’ve noticed that apps like Grammarly or similar spellcheck extensions can sometimes conflict with Figma’s native spellcheck feature. If you have any installed, disabling or uninstalling them might be a good first step to see if they’re overriding the functionality.


Let’s troubleshoot this together:




  1. Could you let me know if this issue occurs in both the browser and the desktop app? It might also help to test other browsers, like Safari or Firefox, to see if the problem is specific to one browser.




  2. Have you tried switching to a different English language setting, like “English (Canada)” instead of “English (United Kingdom)”? That could help us understand if it’s tied to a particular language setting.




  3. Does this issue happen only on your current Figma account, or do you notice the same behavior across multiple accounts (if you have more than one)?




  4. Please try clearing your cache, sometimes clearing the cache can resolve issues.

    -For the desktop app: Clear Desktop Cache

  1. No luck with other browsers. I am on chrome. Tested on safari and edge. We don’t use desktop version.




  2. No luck , switching to another english variant either.




  3. We are on an enterprise license. Other users are also facing the same issue. For both FigJam and slides.
