Shooting yourself in the foot by removing essential features in the new UI

Today, Figma switched me to the new UI3. At first I kind of liked it, but a few seconds later I realized I can no longer hide just the left panel (Shift+\ in the old UI) while keeping the right panel visible — now it’s “all or nothing” style.

Disabled the new UI immediately and won’t switch back until this particular feature is restored.

Anyone else feel the same?

I haven’t tried the new UI. Having viewed the promotional videos and content about the upcoming change, I switched back to the old UI when I was pushed to UI3. I didn’t feel there was anything that I really needed with the change and in the moment I had to work quickly, so maintaining muscle memory was more valuable.

With all that said, I would like to be able to show and hide all panels individually if I felt it helped my productivity. Coming from Adobe’s Creative Suite I feel like they set a good example of tool customisation.
