for example …I can send a link to a new invitee but do they need to create an account with password? I have never seen anything so badly designed and implemented - or is it me being stupid?

@pat_bermingham Hi – can you give more information on how you’re trying to share?

You mentioned you are sending a link to a new invitee – are you sharing this file to “only those who are invited” can edit, and then directly inviting certain emails only?

If that’s the case, a prompt to sign in will appear since an account would be required to make any edits to a file they are invited to.

If you just want them to be able to view the file you’re sharing, you can select anyone with link can view – this will allow anyone you share the link with to view the file you’ve sent them without having to sign in (there will be a prompt to do so, but it won’t be required).

For an extra layer of protection, you can also set a password to be required in order to view a file that you’ve linked out. This does require you to have a professional Figma plan.

Let me know if you have any other questions
