How to unify anchoring and position of components across pages and documents?

I searched for this question, but did not find a satisfying answer: I often have a component that is coming from a library and needs to be positioned at a certain position on the screen. I am using anchoring and guides to synchronize positions and make them work well with different component states, but neither position nor anchoring can be set on the original component. How do you address this in your documents? Is there a set of features that I missed? Do you create additional wrapper components just for the positioning information? Do you create one for the whole screen, or one for each component?
