Hidden Template Slides Showing up in PDF Export

I am experiencing a problem where rogue template slides that are not in the presentation are appearing as part of the exported PDF. They are not visible in the page view, but then when the PDF exports they are appearing in the PDF. Any ideas?

I see the same thing. In Grid view I was able to find 43 extra slides and remove them (not easily). But there is still one slide that show in PDF that is not in outline or grid view. How do I find this and remove it?

In my case the extra slides are all template slides from the dark theme.
