As of yesterday the bottom tool bar appears when a file is opened and then disappears. I have updated chrome, tried Firefox, tried hide and unhide UI, and hit cmd then /. All with no effect. Any one know the trick?

Thanks

Hi @zabel, Thank you for getting in touch with us.

I’ve been exploring, but I haven’t found a way to hide the toolbar yet. We’d really appreciate it if you could provide more details! Could you please try the following?

  • Is this issue also occurring on the Desktop app?
  • Is it specific to a particular file or happening across all your files?
  • Have you tried clearing the cache on the app or browser to see if that helps bring back the toolbar?
  • Have you try using Figma in an incognito or private browser window to see if there’s any difference?

If the problem persists, would you mind sharing a recording of the issue that captures the full Figma screen with the left and right-hand panels?

Thanks again for reaching out!

Thank you for the detailed reply @Junko3. I was pulled in a different direction for a few day’s and now the tool bar is back. Problem solved for the moment, will reference this should the issue reoccur. Thanks

This happened to me in the web client, Chrome, Windows, yesterday multiple times. I could ctrl \ but all it did was make the upper left board title disappear and reappear. It seems like it has to do with relative zoom settings, because I managed to get a GIANT toolbar to partially appear but couldn’t scroll it into view. When I checked my browser zoom it was 100%, however. This happened 3 times in the middle of a workshop. My solution was closing the browser and clicking the FigJam link for the workshop board and everything drew correctly. It did happen again, and I followed the same steps to correct.

This happened to me yesterday and, like @Jay_Rogers1 , I strongly suspect it was a buggy response to using the Zoom In feature in Chrome. Wasted a fair amount of time toggling UI controls on and off until I saw this thread and was able to restore the toolbar by simply selecting View > Actual Size in Chrome.
